Stitch Fix 1 April 15, 2017

Have you heard about Stitch Fix yet?  You have your own personal sylist and she is supposed to tailor your choices to your personal style.  You fill out an interview form and you can also point them to blogs or pinterest boards where you collect your ideas of what you like.  It costs $20 for a stylist to pick your items but that is applied to your purchases, so really it is a free stylist. Shipping is free both to you and for returns.  If you want a to try it for yourself, click on my link.

I was excited to receive my first Stitch Fix. I posted all my favorite styles to my pinterest pages and filled out a profile for my stylist.  What would I receive?  Would I like it. I'm pretty conservative and like most people I have some body issues that need special treatment. I was delighted when my box arrived and it was packaged beautifully and with care to detail. It just said someone cares.

LAILA JAYDE
Placer Knit Poncho
$58

The style of this is something I would totally wear for casual use. The fabric feels wonderful.  It is actually black and not gray/green. It is 46% rayon and 46% poly and 8% spandex.  It is very soft, yet definitely has some body.  Washable in cold water and dry flat or choose to dry clean. I'm inclined to keep it, but would have preferred a color that screamed SPRING.

LOVEAPPELLA
Zaria Border Print Maxi Skirt
$58

This was definitely something I would not have picked.  But to be fair, I tried it on anyway. It does fit, but as my initial impression said it was not my style.  Way toooo bohemian in the peach and blue print. Had it been a solid dark color, I would have found it to be very versatile and added it to my wardrobe.  As it is it is going back. It was 95%rayon an 5% spandex.

EUNINA
Imogen bootcut jean
$88
I don't usually wear jeans.  I love them on other people.  I did go thru a jeans phase several years ago, and loved them then. But that was past.  I decided to be open minded and gave them a fair shot. They didn't fit.  They looked like nice jeans but they are Going Back.

MARKET & SPRUCE
Bri Knit Cardigan
$38
At first appearance, this didn't have enough style, but the price was reasonable. As I tried it on I really liked it.  It will be a nice lightweight summer/spring sweater.  A keeper. It's 60% rayon, 35% poly and 5% spandex and washable. It has a nice texture for a knit.

PAPERMOON
Magguie Lasercut Detail Blouse
$44

I like the neckline on this blouse and the color is fresh.  I have very little green in my closet and most of it is chartreuse green. This would be something new for me.  When I tried it on I loved the color. It suited my skin tones. Best item in the batch for color. However the armholes were a little big and I am concerned about the neckline with the laser cut trim.  Nice idea, but not very practical. It is made from a very thin fabric and without facing so the neckline has no stability and is bound to curl quickly.  It is 96% poly and is washable which was nice. It will be going back.

I think for a first Stitch Fix, this was a valiant effort and a real chance for my personal stylist to get to know my tastes.  I'll be interested to see what the next box brings me.
